Dr Channabasava Pattadevaru, the founder of Shanti Vardhak Education Society believed in the education women is the only way to improve the society socially, economical and culturally. Keeping this vision in view and needs of socially, economically and educationally backward district of Bidar Shanti Vardhak Education Society shoulder the responsibility of starting women only institution in the district of Bidar in the year 1971. This was a pioneering effort of Shanti Vardhak Education Society to create facilities for spreading higher quality education for women in the district.

This college has completed 37 years of service successfully with a record of good results and outstanding record in extra-circular and co- circular activates. It is rendering yeoman service to upgrade the intellectual, educational and the living standard of women of this backward district. It has a very good track record in changing the out look of life of the women of this district.

The college is located in a land spread over 5 Acre plot and in its own building having large class rooms and well equipped library and laboratory, in the heart of the city. It is surrounded by residential localities. College is just 100 meters from main Bus Stand. It is convenient for the students coming from surrounding villages. It is affiliated to Karnataka State Pre-University Board, Bangalore, for P.U.C. (2 years) courses, and to Karnataka State Women’s University, Bijapur for Under Graduate Courses. The college has efficient, experienced and competent teaching staff, it has well equipped department for indoor and outdoor sports and games facility. It has all necessary amenities needed for a women’s college.

This college is recognized by University Grant Commission under section 2 f and 12 B of UGC Act 1956. The college is accredited at ‘B’ grade by NAAC in the year 2004.
